
Every Single Olympic Event—All 339 of Them—Ranked From Worst to Best
There are too many events in the Summer Olympics, and yet more keep getting added. Indeed, the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo—which run from July 23 to Aug. 8—have 33 more events than there were in Rio in 2016. But that’s why I’m here, to make sense of the mess and help you get the most out of these Games. I’ve watched every Olympics of the past 30 years and inexplicably have been paid to cover five of them. I’ve had an athlete place his gold medal around my neck, and I’ve also gotten up at 1 a.m. to watch field hockey. I know what’s going to blow you away and what’s just going to blow. Here is my ranking of all 339 events, from worst to best, based on how exciting they will be to watch. I’m also giving you insight into which athletes to look out for, with special emphasis on the Americans.
