Episode Notes

It seems that languages, prior to the blossoming of civilization, evolved without the need for numbers or color words. Or long, labyrinthine sentences. Or absurdly large vocabularies. Yet they were laden with complicated suffixes and tones. English is more or less the opposite on all those counts. You might even say that English is weird. John explains.
