Test your knowledge of this week’s big stories.

Welcome to Slate’s weekly news quiz. It’s Friday, which means it’s time to test your knowledge of the week’s news events. Your fill-in host this week, Abby McIntyre, has concocted questions on news topics ranging from politics to business, from culture to sports to science.

At the end of the quiz, you’ll be able to compare your score with that of the average contestant, as well as with the score of a Slatester who has agreed to take the quiz on the record. This week’s contestant is audience engagement editor Sofie Werthan.

Can you ace the quiz and beat Werthan? Good luck!

Centenarians are in the news this week. Japanese sisters Umeno Sumiyama and Koume Kodama were certified Monday as the oldest living identical twins at 107. Meanwhile, the AP reported on 101-year-old Virginia Oliver, the oldest lobster fisher in Maine and likely the world, who has no plans to stop lobstering anytime soon. The Slate News Quiz is fun for all ages.
