I first saw this information on TMZ and thought for sure they must have been wildly exaggerating a minor detail, but no: Disgraced Subway spokesman Jared Fogle’s lawyers called an expert witness in federal court in Indianapolis on Thursday to argue that Fogle should be shown leniency after pleading guilty to child sex abuse charges because he was stricken by sex addiction after addressing his food addiction via his famous weight loss. This is from the Indianapolis Star, quoting Fogle’s attorney Jeremy Margolis:

Margolis said Fogle “traded a horrible food addiction for a horrible sex addiction.”

And this is from a CBS reporter:

The judge in Fogle’s case apparently did not buy his attorneys’ arguments, sentencing him to 15 years and 8 months in prison—three years more than the 12 years and 6 months that prosecutors had asked for. Fogle will reportedly be required to serve more than 13 years before being considered for parole.

In his guilty plea, Fogle admitted to having possessed child pornography and having paid for sex with minors.
