Here’s What It Looks Like When Hamas Launches a Rocket

While there’s abundant footage of the civilian victims and damage caused by Israeli airstrikes in Gaza, we’ve seen relatively few images of actual Hamas fighters.

So the video above, taken by a crew from India’s NDTV, is pretty extraordinary. Reporter Sreenivasan Jain witnesses a rocket silo being assembled under a tent next to his hotel on Aug. 4. The next day, just before the cease-fire between Israel and Hamas went into effect, the rocket was fired. Based on the video, the rocket seems to have been fired from a heavily populated residential area.

Jain notes that the footage was only “published on ndtv.com after our team left the Gaza Strip” as “Hamas has not taken very kindly to any reporting of its rockets being fired.”
