Chris Christie says he could be effective as a plus-sized president.
Asked by Barbara Walters if his weight would be an issue if he ran for president, the brash-talking New Jersey governor said his relentless efforts and 18-hour days in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy are evidence enough that his health is just fine.
The interview was part of ABC’s 10 Most Fascinating People special.
Christie, who admits he is a “little more than” overweight, also said he wanted to finish the job in New Jersey and reaffirmed that he will seek re-election in 2013. But now that Christie is so popular in the Garden State and across the country—and he has even managed to connect a bit with Bruce Springsteen—perhaps the weight could still shift toward a bid for the presidency in 2016.
