DENVER – I’m spending the morning at CPAC-Colorado, a one-day gathering put on by the Conservative Political Action Conference. Mitt Romney’s debate performance has transformed it into a wide-eyed revival meeting, all enthusiasm and teleprompter jokes – and predictions that the Democrats will get desparate.
“They’re going to get frustrated,” said Sen. Orrin Hatch, who’s LDS and who struggles sometimes to convince the Tea Party that he can be trusted. “Before the end of this race, they’re going to be so that they’re gonna start attacking Mitt Romney’s religious feelings. Let me tell you something, get prepared for it. Because I know this is coming.”
