Twitter has given itself a Facebook lift.
Appearing on the Today Show, Twitter CEO Dick Costolo announced new profile pages with large header images that make profiles look the same on mobile or on the Web.
And it also makes them look awfully similar to Facebook’s timeline.
Twitter has also rebuilt its iPad app, allowing photo streams to show up under latest tweets and letting users to view content in full-screen landscape mode.
As expected, both Twitter’s Android and Mac updates don’t offer third-party image clients like yFrog and TwitPic.
With the new design, it appears that Twitter is moving to compete with Facebook to become the home of your online life. But it’s going to need a lot more than 140 million users to make that happen.
