Politicians, corporations, and advocacy groups alike have been in a frenzy preparing for the Supreme Court to rule on the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act. They’ve been putting together statements and campaign strategies for any of a variety of outcomes, ranging from an outright rejection of the law to it being uphold in its entirety.
Tea Party-backed Indiana Senate candidate Richard Mourdock, the state treasurer who took out incumbent Dick Lugar in the Republican primary earlier this spring, apparently let his loathing for ‘Obamacare’ get ahead of him, releasing a video where he celebrates the (not yet issued) ruling gutting President Obama’s signature domestic initiative (via Alexander Burns):
While Mourdock is sure to get teased for the goof (his campaign erased the video from their YouTube channel, but fortunately not before it was preserved), the video really just reflects the incredible amount of anticipation and jockeying as the entire political world holds its breath. The Supreme Court is now expected to issue its ruling on the health law sometime next week.
