Nick Martin acquires the e-mails sent by and to Arizona’s birther-pandering Secretary of State. How far does he bend to please them? A 90 degree angle, at least.
With all due respect, the MCSO investigation has not proven anything other than raised probable cause that the birth certificate posted on the Whitehouse website “may be” a forgery. The next lawful step would be for the Sheriff’s office to turn their findings over to the County Attorney for prosecution. Evidence would be brought on both sides and a judge should issue a decision. Whether or not that happens, if Hawaii can’t or won’t provide verification of the President’s birth certificate, I will not put his name on the ballot.
The next step, I’d guess, is for liberal activists to hound Bennett into getting Mitt Romney’s birth certificate. Wake me when that’s over.
Ed Morrissey entertains a fantasy about Massachussetts Democrats panicking and dumping Elizabeth Warren, even though the last Warren scandal imploded on the launchpad.
At some point this summer, when it becomes apparent that Warren couldn’t win a statewide contest for dogcatcher, Democrats will sue to get Vicki Kennedy on the ballot, claiming as they did in New Jersey that a withdrawal of the primary winner would present an unfair advantage to Republicans and that state laws should be ignored to get a poor, disadvantaged Kennedy on the ballot.
Well, maybe, but Ed and I are both old enough to remember when Al Franken’s tax scandals made him entirely unelectable. And now he’s Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.).
