Hard to Get Holder, “Especially After Trayvon”

Jonathan Strong reports on the rump effort to hold Eric Holder in contempt of Congress. He gets at the unasked question: Why, exactly, is a Republican Party that’s at total, 1944-style war against the president, not wholly on board with the Get Holder effort?

A GOP aide also warned against a racial backlash if Republicans are seen as unfairly targeting the first black attorney general, who is serving under the first black president. “Especially after Trayvon,” the aide said, referring to slain Florida teenager Trayvon Martin.

If only the GOP had a black representative who was on record calling for Holder to go. Oh, hang on.

So… what’s the hold-up?
