Wise Words from ALEC

The American Legislative Exchange Council’s fightback is really taking its sweet time. Six days ago, ALEC announced a new website, IStandWithAlec, to collate and collect conservative solidarity. The site’s not live yet. This afternoon, the organization made general counsel Alan P. Dye available to reporters for a conference call about IRS complaints filed by Common Cause and other groups. The substance of the complaints – ALEC is effectively lobbying but won’t register for that activity. This, according to Dye, was not true.

“It’s incorrect to say that conservatism is partisan or liberalism is partisan,” he said. “For IRS purposes that’s not true.”
