The Violence Against Women Act and the Possible Veeps

Nestled together in my email inbox are fundraising emails from Los Angeles mayoral candidate Wendy Greuel, the DCCC, and Tim Kaine’s campaign for U.S. Senate. All of them tell me – or someone more inclined than me to actually donate money – to support Democrats, lest the Violence Against Women Act be snuffed out.

With that in mind, here’s the Senate roll call for reauthorization. Four senators are generally mentioned as possible Romney running mates. Two of them – New Hampshire’s Kelly Ayotte and Ohio’s Rob Portman – voted for renewal. The other two are Marco Rubio and John Thune. They voted no. This was one of the votes marked off in the Democrats’ Domesday Book of possible attack lines.
