Newt After the Embeds

If you missed it on Friday, and if the hubbub of April Fools made you doubt its seriousness, my newest piece is right here. I ask what Newt Gingrich actually loses when the media stops covering him. Answer: Well, since he went from “unlikely to be president” to “unlikely to be president,” he did not lose much. He criticized how the press covered his Campaign of Ideas, and how coverage of silly gaffes dominates the day-to-day talk. The evidence shows that 1) he didn’t run that much of an Ideas campaign, really and 2) yes, the day-to-day conversation when all the cameras are in their proper places can be incredibly silly.
