Grover Norquist effectively puts himself beyond mockery with this video for The Onion.
Norquist is chair of the annual “Funniest Celebrity in D.C.” stand-up contest, which he always performs in, too. What progressives probably need is for a CAP or Brookings spokesman to develop a sense of humor and start making zingers when asked for quotes. People notice. (I wonder if Norquist’s joke here is a bid for a Saturday Night Live spot; I talked to him after SNL had included him in a sketch about the president’s list of people more powerful him, and he remembered that the show’s head writer, Seth Myers, had been spooked by his presence at a Time 100 panel.)
