An Angry Birds Cookbook?  Rovio’s Popular Video Game Is on a Merchandizing Push.

From video games to a knockoff Chinese amusement park to plush toys, Halloween costumes, and soon even cookbooks, the Angry Birds brand continues expanding.

In an interview with TechCrunch, the studio behind the popular game, Rovio, boasts of its 400 million downloads to date and its mission to turn Angry Birds into “a brand as iconic as Nintendo’s Mario and Mickey Mouse.”

In addition to all the merchandizing, Rovio brought onboard David Maisel, the former chairman of Marvel Studios, to develop an animated movie. Your move, Fruit Ninja.
