After endless speculation, we finally have an announcement: the iPhone is coming to Verizon. It’s essentially the same phone you can get through AT&T, which has been the exclusive service provider since the iPhone was introduced in 2007. But there’s one adjustment: the antenna design has been changed to fit the necessary components for Verizon’s network, but hopefully also to fix reception problems with the initial iPhone 4. Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 5 this summer, so some forward-looking customers may wait to buy, rather than getting tied in to a two-year contract right away. Verizon customers can get their hands on the phone February 10 or one week sooner if they reserve one in advance.
