After six long, confusing seasons, Lost is finally coming to a close with a two-and-a-half hour finale. To give the series a proper send-off, Slate is partnering with 92YTribeca, in New York City, to throw a viewing party.
Chadwick Matlin and Seth Stevenson, whose names you might recognize from our Lost TV Club, and Juliet Lapidos, the Lost TV Club editor, will serve as hosts. Before the main event, we’ll share our insights, answer questions from the crowd, and encourage audience members to predict how the show will resolve its many mysteries. (As for our bona fides: Chad taught a college course on Lost, Seth loves tropical islands, and Juliet’s name is an amalgam of two Lost characters’ names.) When the finale starts, we’ll keep mum so everyone can enjoy the show on the big screen, but encourage banter during commercials.
We’re offering themed cocktails (Ana Lucia’s favorite drink: tequila and tonic!), sodas for minors, plus prizes for whoever in the audience makes a correct prediction.
Date: Sunday, May 23, 2010 (yes, the finale is on a Sunday, not a Tuesday)
Time: Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Happy hour from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Actual discussion/question answering /insights start at 8:30 p.m.
Location: 92YTribeca, 200 Hudson Street (Directions)
