Looking at the picturesque ruins of Castle Roche in Ireland, you wouldn’t imagine that it’s haunted. But it is. Allegedly.
There is an old story about the castle that involves a bride, a groom, and a terrible crime. In this video, storyteller Emily Collins spins the chilling tale of the Black Widow. You’ll also get a look at the notorious (and spooky) Murder Window. Despite the creepy legend, the Anglo-Norman castle is stunning—the arched doorway is remarkably intact, greenery has overtaken the walls and towers, and the castle commands views of rolling green hills.
You can travel to County Louth and visit the castle, and even stand at the Murder Window, if you’re brave enough.
