Last Saturday, the Trump campaign released this ad on Twitter. It provides a clear, number-based argument for why Trump should be president: Trump’s RNC acceptance speech was 75 minutes long. His audience applauded for a total of 24 minutes. That means the convention audience applauded for 33 percent of the speech. Therefore, according to the Trump/Pence 2016 theorem of applause percentages, Trump should be president.
But wait. There are some other important numbers in Trump’s speech that he left out of his ad. So we took it upon ourselves to make a new, more complete version for the Republican nominee.
