The adorable, specially trained army of rats that detect landmines in Africa.

African farmers, usually plagued by pests like rats, are seeing their lives and livelihoods reclaimed with help from the rodents. A Belgian NGO working in the southern highlands of Tanzania have been training and using giant pouched rats to sniff out and alert their handlers to the presence of landmines.
