You’re probably familiar with the story of Malala Yousafzai, the 15-year-old Pakistani girl who was shot in the head by a member of the Taliban as she was returning from school and survived. She’s among those nominated for this year’s Nobel Peace Prize—the youngest nominee in history. This illustrated version of Malala’s story by artist Gavin Aung Than gives her heroism the justice it deserves. The illustration was originally published on Feb. 19, but it’s an especially relevant read for International Women’s Day today.
