None of my rights are under attack at the moment, so I’m comfortable putting someone awful on the Supreme Court as long as he went to the right schools, knows the right people, and enjoys reading academic articles, because I believe “consummate legal skill” is a positive trait instead of a morally neutral ability that can be used for good or evil.
