Tina Fey and Jimmy Fallon Dropped by Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update to Play Undecided Voters

Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update took viewers on a magical trip back to the early ’00s this weekend, as Tina Fey and Jimmy Fallon dropped by to play two undecided Pennsylvania voters. It was just like old times: Fallon slipped in and out of character and cracked up while Fey calmly dropped nuclear-grade snark from orbit. She gave Fallon some well-deserved shit for mussing Trump’s hair, but the harshest line was directed at Trump himself, who, Fey said, “looks like someone opened a quesadilla to pick the chicken out.”

It was a heavily Philadelphia-themed bit, with shoutouts to the Hooters and the Mummers Parade, but when Mike Pence’s horrible anti-gay law came up—the one that, in Fey’s words, says “if you’re real Jesusy you can refuse to sell pizza to gay people”—she ditched the regionalisms and went national: “First of all, Indiana, no one wants your garbage pizza.” In the middle of such a divisive election, it’s reassuring to remember that there are still things all Americans can agree on.
