Ringo Starr, Brian Eno, and Rick Rubin Made a Moving George Martin Tribute Video

Many friends and admirers of George Martin from across the cultural landscape have already paid their respects, both to the man and to his long, legendary career. And now the Beatles themselves have put out a touching tribute via the band’s official YouTube channel.

The video includes snapshots and footage of Martin at work, and is narrated by interviews with a number of musical luminaries, including fellow producers Nigel Godrich, Rick Rubin, Tony Visconti, Brian Eno, and Martin’s son Giles, Beatles drummer Ringo Starr, and singer-songwriter Rosanne Cash. Their respect is palpable, with Godrich noting that Martin “is the guy who invented the job” and Eno recounting how Martin “brought a whole set of skills that really had never been associated with recording before into the studio and expanded music enormously.”
