In case you forgot since last week, HBO really wants you to wonder about what happened to Jon Snow as Season 6’s April premiere creeps nearer and nearer. The season’s promotional poster featured a blood-smeared image of Snow, and the season’s first teaser, released Thursday, opens on Snow—alive. All of the clips in the teaser appear to be old, but voiceover is new. “We watch, we listen, and we remember,” says Max von Sydow as the new Three-Eyed Raven. “The past is already written. At the close of the teaser, we see the image of Snow bleeding on the ground from Season 5’s close. Then, we see a familiar face—Bran Stark, who was promised to return for Season 6, with full-on warg eyes. Could this mean he’ll resurrect Snow? Or maybe Melisandre could do it. “They have no idea what’s going to happen,” Bran says. Indeed.
