It has long been apparent that the Star Wars universe has an amputation problem. If you are a character in a Star Wars movie, your limbs will be lopped off, usually by lightsaber but every now and then by droid machinery. If you are one of those chosen few, the Jedi, it’s no different: Your job requires slick robes, alignment with the Force, and an excised extremity.
This common fate is honored in the aptly titled “Star Wars—Amputations,” in which L.A.-based filmmaker Pablo Fernández Eyre compiles every severed body part in the series, from Anakin’s legs to Luke’s hand to that one Wampa’s arm. Enjoy.
