Although the Emmys won’t air until September 20, the ceremony for the Creative Arts Emmys, which mostly honor technical achievements and behind-the-scenes work, took place over the weekend. Taylor Swift took home her first-ever Emmy award for Outstanding Creative Achievement in Interactive Media: Original Interactive Program. The title is a mouthful, but Swift won for her Amex Unstaged: Taylor Swift Experience special, an interactive app that lets fans explore the set, costumes, and characters in her “Blank Space” music video.
Judging by her outpouring of enthusiasm on social media, Swift was, in typical Swift fashion, excited.
In addition, the Foo Fighters got nominated in four categories for their Sonic Highways documentary series, and the series’ “Seattle” episode took home the awards for Outstanding Sound Editing for Nonfiction Programming and Outstanding Sound Mixing for Nonfiction Programming. The ceremony for the Creative Arts Emmys will air on September 19 on FXX, the day before the Primetime Emmys air on Fox.
