It’s hard to balance career, fame, family, and being a genius—at least, Michael Fassbender really struggles with it in the second official trailer for Danny Boyle’s upcoming biopic Steve Jobs. The trailer begins with “the most tectonic shift in the status quo since” … “ever”: Putting computers in everyone’s hands.
From there, though, the walls begin to close in—literally, as black space pushes in from either side amid clashes with developer Joanna Hoffman (Kate Winslet) and the mother of his child. (The same visual technique was applied in the movie’s first teaser.) This trailer dedicates some additional screen time to Jobs’ estranged relationship his daughter. It also gives a more significant nod to how the movie might interrogate Jobs’ persona, as Seth Rogen says, “I’m the only one who knows that this guy is someone you invented.”
