Much has been made of Bryce Dallas Howard’s Jurassic World character, who spends the film running through the jungle while shod, laughably, in stilettos. Her impractical footwear has not only inspired a Tumblr dedicated to action heroines wearing heels, but also inspired countless think pieces about the portrayal of women in cinema. Is the character’s footwear an unforgivable example of sexism in Hollywood? Is it actually a feminist triumph? In a movie about dinosaurs running amok, does it even matter?
Finally, producers Jeff Goldstein and XVP Comedy have a solution that will please just about everyone: put heels on all of the characters in the Jurassic Park franchise. Chris Pratt, Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern—even the dinosaurs. (Our compliments to Patrick De Nicola and Sam Martin for creating and writing this video, and to Kevin Brown and Pat Emling for the surprisingly convincing special effects.)
