Watch Sleater-Kinney Reunite for Their First Performance in Years

Sleater-Kinney officially reunited in 2014 after an extended hiatus, and they are back next week with their first new album in 10 years. But one thing they hadn’t done since 2006, when they played Lollapalooza and made a small club appearance in Portland, is perform together publicly. Thursday night they did just that, appearing on The Late Show With David Letterman to play “A New Wave,” one of the songs on their new album.

They haven’t missed a beat: Carrie Brownstein and Corin Tucker’s unwavering vocals and guitar shredding still go great with with Janet Weiss’ killer drumming. And, to the delight of fans everywhere, Brownstein even whipped out her signature leg kicks. (For comparison, here’s S-K on Letterman nine years ago.)

The band also released the celebrity-packed video for the album’s title song yesterday, which you can watch below.
