House of Cards will return for its third season on Feb. 27, and now we have our first look at what to expect. Netflix aired the season’s first trailer during last night’s Golden Globes, just after Kevin Spacey took home Best Actor in a TV Series Drama for his work on the show, and it teases an even more tense year at the White House for everyone’s favorite political villain.
Frank Underwood, now president of the United States, seems savage as ever. We hear him preach about “holding it all together when the stakes are this high” over a montage of clips that include a military funeral, protests, another political leader refusing to shake his hand, and, of course, jogging. Few plot details about Season 3 have been revealed, but the trailer hints that Frank and his wife Claire (Robin Wright) might finally face a public backlash for past misdeeds.
