Björk, Iceland’s sui generis singer and occasional actress, got her start in music at an early age: She released her first album in 1977, at age 11. A few months before that debut, the soon-to-be star gave a little-seen reading of the nativity story for Icelandic TV station RÚV. A Reddit user has dug up the charming video of this reading—just in time for Christmas, as well—and you can watch it over on RÚV’s website. A short taste of the 11-minute clip is above.
Björk is accompanied by a soothing, equally precocious orchestra from the Reykjavík Children’s Music School.
