You probably don’t need any encouragement to revisit (or finally seek out) some of Philip Seymour Hoffman’s many wonderful performances. But this video tribute to the actor, who died yesterday of an apparent drug overdose, makes a solid case for why you should do so anyway. Talented editor Nelson Carvajal has put together a simple, straightforward montage of some of Hoffman’s best scenes, letting the work speak for itself.

It’s a moving tribute to a man who could make even the silliest of movies a treat to watch.
