Sept. 11 changed our country’s foreign policy, our security measures, and our national psyche. But it also affected us in more personal ways. We asked people in New York City a simple question: “How has your life changed because of 9/11?” Some spoke of a sustained fear of planes, trains, and crowded places, and the frustration of racial profiling, but others felt a stronger, more positive awareness of their surroundings and a loving bond with what they see as a great city. Here are 10 stories from around New York.
