Republicans Have Gotten Much More Concerned About Overregulation

It’s not shocking news that self-identified Republicans are more likely than self-identified Democrats to say that there’s too much regulation of business. But it’s noteworthy how big the gap has become and how recently the surge in GOP anti-regulatory zeal occurred.

The financial crisis and the election of Barack Obama seems to have really radicalized self-identified Republicans into much stronger anti-regulatory zealots than they’d previously been. I assume that’s driven by the perception that the baseline level of regulation is much higher in the era of Sharia Socialism than it had previously been.
