Slate’s Mistakes for the Week of Nov. 21

In a Nov. 23 Pay Dirt, Athena Valentine misstated that a letter writer would need to pay capital gains on a stock inheritance’s current value.

In a Nov. 21 Industry, Alex Kantrowitz erroneously referred to Amazon planning 10,000 layoffs. While such a cut has been reported, Amazon has not confirmed a number.

In a Nov. 21 Future Tense, Stephen Harrison originally misquoted Anton Protsiuk as referring to “malicious actors in Russia.” He said “malicious actors like Russia.”

Due to a production error, a Nov. 19 Amicus show page misstated that guest Maggie Blackhawk is from the Find du Lac Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe. It’s the Fond du Lac Band.
