Samuel Bagenstos is the Frank G. Millard Professor of Law at the University of Michigan Law School. He served as a trial attorney in the Appellate Section of the Civil Rights Division of the United States Department of Justice from 1994 to 1997 and as principal deputy assistant attorney general for Civil Rights from 2009 to 2011.
