Elizabeth Shackelford was a U.S. diplomat until December 2017, when she resigned in protest of the Trump administration. She served in the U.S. mission to Somalia, the U.S. embassies in South Sudan and Poland, and in D.C. Shackelford is also the author of The Dissent Channel: American Diplomacy in a Dishonest Age, which was published in May 2020.
