In the Oct. 29 "Sports Nut," Josh Levin incorrectly referred to Phillies pitcher Cliff Lee's mitt. Catchers and first basemen wear mitts, which don't have separated fingers. Pitchers and other fielders wear gloves.

In an Oct. 28 "Explainer," Christopher Beam misspelled the name of the religious group Anthroposophy.

In an Oct. 27 "Politics," Christopher Beam incorrectly referred to AIPAC as the American Israel Political Action Committee. It's the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.

In the Oct. 26 "Jurisprudence," Doug Kendall misspelled the name of Judge Gerard Lynch.

In the Oct. 22 "Dismal Science," Ray Fisman stated that errors in sentencing recommendations were made by the Maryland State Commission on Criminal Sentencing Policy. The errors were the result of miscalculations by the person completing the sentencing recommendation work sheet, not the commission.

In the March 14, 2008, "Explainer," Alex Joseph erroneously stated that legally blind people can never obtain a driver's license. In most states, they can apply for a restricted driver's license, as long as their visual acuity exceeds a legal limit with the aid of a bioptic telescopic device.
