In the May 29 "Press Box," Jack Shafer erred in stating that the Detroit dailies had ended home delivery. The two papers have cut back from seven days of home delivery to three.
In a May 28 "Jurisprudence," Emily Bazelon incorrectly stated that the case Jocks v. Tavernier was not retried after the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals threw out a jury verdict. The case was retried in 2007, and Jocks lost, based on the more-constraining jury instructions that the trial judge gave because of the 2nd Circuit ruling.
In a May 26 "Jurisprudence," Emily Bazelon said that New Haven, Conn., is nearly 60 percent African-American. The city population is nearly 40 percent African-American.
