Another Fox News Memo!

Posted Monday, Nov. 20, 2006, at 3:39 PM ET

When last we encountered John Moody, senior vice president, news editorial, for Fox News, he was setting the tone for Fox's "fair and balanced" political coverage by reassuring his newsroom that the Democratic House victory was "not the end of the world" and by gloating (about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's ill-advised support for Rep. John Murtha, D.-Pa., in Murtha's unsuccessful bid for House majority leader), "Let the blue bloodbath begin."

Moody appears to be developing a mild fixation on the new House speaker-designate. His Nov. 15 memo (see last paragraph, below) refers to a story Fox News is planning about the San Francisco Board of Education's decision to phase out the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps military recruitment program from city high schools. Pelosi, not being a member of the San Francisco board of education, played no role in this local vote in her home district. Even so, Moody felt compelled to snicker, "Ah Ms. Pelosi, you must be proud."
