How Do Feeding Tubes Work?Now Saddam's got one.

Two weeks ago, Saddam Hussein and three of his co-defendants went on a hunger strike while waiting for their trial for the killing of Shiite Muslims in 1982 to reconvene. Hussein has since been hospitalized and given nutrition through a feeding tube. Last year, after a federal appeals court rejected a request to reinsert Terri Schiavo's feeding tube, Daniel Engber explained how feeding tubes work.
