Posted Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, at 4:34 PM ETOn Wednesday, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld heard some hostile questions during a town hall meeting with troops in Kuwait. One soldier complained about "digging pieces of rusted scrap metal and compromised ballistic glass" out of the trash to help protect his vehicle for combat. Back in February, Eric Umansky wrote that, due to underfunding, many Humvees in Iraq "feature no more than canvas roofs and doors."
