South Korean Yang Tae-young appealed Hamm's victory after the International Gymnastics Federation admitted that a judge's scoring mistake had cost Yang the victory. In July, Brendan I. Koerner explained how the Court of Arbitration for Sport works, and why some athletes gripe about it.
