Robert Reich, Quote Doctor
Posted Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002, at 11:39 AM ETFormer Labor Secretary Robert Reich is having a tough time in his campaign for the Democratic nomination in Massachusetts' gubernatorial race. An ad by rival Warren Tolman points out that Reich was forced to rewrite his memoir of the Clinton administration, Locked in the Cabinet, "after the media exposed numerous untruths." In fact, Jonathan Rauch exposed them in this article in Slate back in 1997. Since the ad started airing last Friday, Reich has accused Tolman of using "gutter politics." Tolman, undeterred, has launched a Web site, actuallybob.com, tracking Reich's misrepresentations.
